The thinking behind the activities
Memory Stops, guided by Bloom’s Taxonomy
Bloom’s Taxonomy is the main educational framework behind our Memory Stops. We use its revised six levels of thinking to guide playful questions and activities that invite children to do more than recall facts: explain, try, compare, make choices, and create.
With a parent or teacher alongside them, children explore these different ways of thinking through age-appropriate activities. Here are examples of the kinds of thinking Memory Stops encourage:
- Remember
- Recall a letter, animal, or detail from the story.
- Understand
- Explain an idea in your own words.
- Apply
- Use what you learned in a new activity.
- Analyze
- Compare, sort, and notice similarities or differences.
- Evaluate
- Make a choice and explain your reasons.
- Create
- Imagine, draw, or make something new.
The books
Each book on its own, so you can pick the right one for your child.

About Us
Created by teachers.
Made for families.
At Virtual Tree Academy, we create books for parents and children to share—not simply for children to complete.
As teachers, we care deeply about what children learn. But behind every activity we design is a more important purpose: helping parents build a strong, lasting relationship with their children.
Reading a story together, talking about a picture, playing a memory game, or drawing side by side can become more than a learning activity. These are opportunities to listen, encourage, laugh, and understand one another. They show a child: Your ideas matter. I enjoy spending time with you.
Our books give families a simple place to begin. Parents do not need teaching experience or perfect answers. Being present, asking questions, and exploring together are what make these moments meaningful.
Created by educators working with children from Pre-K through fifth grade, our books also complement classroom learning. We use Bloom’s Taxonomy to guide activities that encourage children to remember, understand, explore, and create. But the educational framework serves the relationship—not the other way around.
We want children to grow as learners while knowing they have someone beside them who cares. That connection can help nurture the confidence and curiosity they carry into school and beyond.
You matter more to your child than you may realize. Your time, your attention, and the moments you share can make a lasting difference.
Read together. Play together. Learn together.
The learning matters. The relationship comes first.
